Cellecta ScreedBoard 20 is a high-density, gypsum-based acoustic flooring deck that can be used to improve acoustic performance and safely overlay underfloor heating.
Because of its high thermal conductivity, Cellecta ScreedBoard 20, is an ideal overlay board that both protects underfloor heating and allows it to run efficiently with faster reaction times.
ScreedBoard 20 can also be laid directly onto routed insulation, reducing installation time, while also offering a minimal increase in floor height – due to its low 20mm profile.
To meet UK building regulations, planners and architects will need to consider both aesthetics and performance – and Cellecta ScreedBoard 20 does both, offering excellent floor soundproofing for both airborne noise and impact noise:
Airborne noise is an example of sound pollution that is transmitted through the air and includes common sources of disruption, like talking, laughter, noise from the TV or radio, and dogs barking.
Impact noise, on the other hand, travels through buildings or solid materials via vibrations and sound waves. This includes footsteps, door slamming, and the noise of moving furniture.
Because of this acoustic insulation, Cellecta ScreedBoard 20 is the ideal acoustic flooring option for flats, apartments, hotels, schools, and multiple-storey buildings of all types.
Give the effect of screed without the extra steps
Cellecta ScreedBoard 20 looks and feels like a screed whilst eliminating the mess, fuss, and drying times associated with a wet trade.
Why run the risk of poor or incomplete curing and awkward logistics when you can get the same benefits with an acoustic flooring system?
Suitable for finished flooring of all types
Thanks to the interlocking edges of Cellecta ScreedBoard 20, it is the optimal solution for meeting building regulations and being able to choose from a wide range of finished flooring options, including:
Tiles can also be laid directly onto the ScreedBoard 20 without the need for overlaying with plywood – saving time and money and helping complete jobs faster!

Cellecta Screedboard 20 is a high-density overlay board, typically used for acoustic and underfloor heating applications.
Screedboard 20 is a 20mm calcium sulphate board that’s reinforced with cellulose fibre. It offers high thermal conductivity, allowing underfloor heating systems to operate efficiently, and helps to minimise running costs.
Cellecta provides Screedboard 20 and Screedboard 28.
Both are suitable for all types of steel, concrete, and timber floors. They look and feel like screed and can accept all types of floor coverings, including tiles.
However, Cellecta Screedboard 28 is used to combat unwanted airborne and impact noise, whereas Cellecta Screedboard 20 offers excellent acoustic properties and can also be used to overlay underfloor heating systems.
Another distinct difference between the two is their thickness. Screedboard 20 is only 20mm thick, whereas Screedboard 28 is 28mm thick, including a 20mm facing board and 8mm resilient layer.
Cellecta Screedboard 20 is also slightly lighter than Screedboard 28, weighing 25kg/m².
Whilst Cellecta Screedboard 28 is a robust treatment for E-FS-3, E-FT-5 and E-FT-6, Screedboard 20 is also FFT4 compliant.

Cellecta Screedboard 20 offers numerous advantages.
Due to its low thermal resistance, combined with its rapid transfer of heat, this product is brilliant for underfloor heating applications.
Another benefit of using Cellecta Screedboard 20 is that, unlike standard screed, it provides quick drying times – meaning you won’t have to wait too long to apply the final floor covering.
Once installed correctly, it will accept a wide range of floor finishes – ranging from wooden flooring to carpet, ceramic tiles, and vinyl flooring.
Screedboard 20 is made from 100% recycled high-density gypsum and cellulose, making it an eco-friendly option for homes and businesses. On top of this, it delivers unparalleled performance and complies with Robust Detail.
If you’d like to know more about why you should consider using Cellecta Screedboard 20, don’t hesitate to get in touch today.
Yes, you’ll be pleased to know that Cellecta Screedboard 20 is both quick and easy to install.
No screws are needed – just a tape measure, Pro adhesive, YELOfon FS/ES strip, hand or circular saw, 6-8mm packers, and club hammer.
When installing Screedboard 20 atop an underfloor heating system, you must make sure you carry out the necessary tests (including pressure testing), and never use the heat from the system to dry the adhesive.
With that said, the team at JCW Acoustic Flooring can take care of the installation for you – ensuring that the overlay boards are laid correctly and efficiently. We have been installing Cellecta Screedboard 20 for more than 15 years, and work hard to complete every job quickly without skimping on quality or safety.
