JCW Acoustic Flooring installed over 3000m² of the JCW Acoustic Cradle System at the Waterfront canal side complex in Brierley Hill, previously known as Point North Dudley.
Formerly the headquarters of Egg Money, the Waterfront development was transformed into 181 luxury apartments comprising of 136 one-bed flats, 37 two bedroom flats and eight studios, including six luxury rooftop penthouse apartments. The prestigious £400 million development was for completed in December 2015.
JCW Acoustic Flooring were employed by Colmore Tang Construction to provide the raised flooring solution with a finished floor level in excess of 300mm. The JCW Acoustic Cradle System was specified for the project and has been used to replace the previous redundant raised access flooring. The system involves the use of acoustic foam, standardised moulded components and an acoustic perimeter edging strip. The result is a resilient timber floating floor over a solid sub-floor, with accommodation for services and offering much-improved resistance to the transmission of impact and airborne sound.
JCW’s Robust Standard Detail FFT-2 resilient cradle and batten system is ideal for installing on concrete subfloors and can be used to achieve finished floor levels ranging from 54mm to 400mm.
The fast-pacedWaterfront programme required up to four teams of JCW Acoustic Flooring installers to be on site at any one time. Completing up to 20 flats per week JCW Acoustic Flooring are once again proving their ability to provide top quality acoustic flooring solutions efficiently and on time.
