The developer Crest Nicholson is working with the Homes and Communities Agency to create a new community at Oakgrove Village, Milton Keynes. The development will eventually comprise 1,105 homes. 30% of which are will be affordable homes. The development is situated beside a country park along the River Ouzel. The completed first phase provides a mix of 122 apartments and houses for first-time buyers, downsizers, couples and families. All homes have been designed by Gardner Stewart Architects.
With ample green space, each house has bespoke soft landscaping, with shrubs in the front garden and rear gardens turfed. Many properties also have fruit trees, contributing to the wider biodiversity of the area. The public realm also features trees and shrubs, with well-lit walkways and plenty of space for interaction.
Homes are designed to Code for Sustainable Homes level 4 and incorporate such environmentally friendly features as A-rated appliances, energy efficient lighting, water efficient taps and high standards of wall insulation. Homes are also designed to the Lifetime Homes standard and comply with Secured by Design criteria.
JCW Acoustic Flooring working in partnership with Pinewood Structures installed acoustic floors to the apartments using is the JCW80T Acoustic Batten system to comply with Robust Detail EFT-1 FFT-1.
Starting on site in February 2013 this project is undoubtedly the longest running project for JCW Acoustic Flooring.
