PARK HILL, SHEFFIELD
Contractor
Urban Splash Construction Ltd
Architect
Hawkins Brown
Duration
June 2014 – August 2015
The Grade II* Listed Park Hill (the largest Listed structure in Europe) was a landmark on the Sheffield skyline but had become dilapidated and was no longer a desirable place for people to live. The scale of the project in itself is a major conservation achievement. Through partnership with expert tradespeople, Urban Splash have been able to transform an unloved, decaying listed building back into an iconic building for both residential and commercial tenants.
JCW Acoustic Flooring were employed by Urban Splash to install the JCW Acoustic Cradle System to 182 apartments.
The JCW Acoustic Cradle System, can accommodate levels varying from 55mm to in excess of 300mm, making them the ideal system to level the existing uneven subfloors whilst also offering an exceptional reduction in impact sound.
Over the 14 month contract we installed over 12,500m² of acoustic flooring. This was our second successful project working with Urban Splash, the first being Saxton Gardens in Leeds back in 2012.
